La compa\u00f1\u00eda parece centrarse mucho en el rango ultra angular, cuando se trata de distancias focales. Tiene unas impresionantes capacidades de enfoque cercano \u2013 la distancia m\u00ednima de enfoque es de 20 cm (7,9\u201d) desde el sensor. El lente cuenta con un sistema de apertura de 5 hojas para crear hermosas im\u00e1genes de destellos solares (estrellas de 10 puntos). Venus Optics afirma que el Laowa 17mm f\/4 logra resultados n\u00edtidos de alta resoluci\u00f3n tanto en el centro como en el borde del cuadro. Con las c\u00e1maras sin espejo, casi siempre tiene que ser un filtro montado en la parte delantera, pero con lentes ultra angulares esto a veces puede ser problem\u00e1tico. Venus Optics pens\u00f3 en esto, y as\u00ed es que su lente Laowa de 17 mm tiene una rosca de filtro frontal de 86 mm.
