For lenses, since I\u2019m also a professional photographer, I can use most of my X-mount lenses for my filmmaking as well depending on the project with the ability to use the amazing and reliable autofocus available on the FUJIFILM bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also use the FUJINON MK 18-55mm T2.9, which is fantastic for most of my professional work. Did you impose on yourself any limitations like not shooting with a tripod?<\/strong><br>For my short film, I believe the biggest challenge was to shoot a compelling story at only one location, which, in this case, was a single-family house. I could have easily explored some different locations to help tell the story, but I chose not to. This was definitely the biggest creative limitation of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favorite lighting equipment, and why did you choose that kit over other solutions?<\/strong><br>For <em>Aion <\/em>short film we decided to go with some ARRI lights, but I strongly believe LED is the future and I\u2019m a huge fan of Aputure fixtures. If so, what is the most effective way you\u2019ve found of deploying them?<\/strong><br>Although I\u2019m a huge fan of drones and gimbals, we didn\u2019t use them on set for <em>Aion<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What editing systems do you use and are you satisfied working with them?<br><\/strong>I started with Final Cut and later, migrated to Premiere Pro, since I already had the Adobe Creative Cloud for my photography needs (Photoshop &amp; Lightroom), so it felt like the natural move to make. It still gives me a lot of dynamic range with a fairly \u201cflat\u201d look, but with a great starting point for color grading. Some big, some small gigs, but for any production size, I always carry with me my current main body, which in this case is the FUJIFILM X-H2S, a second body ( <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/1548388-REG\/fujifilm_16652855_x_t4_mirrorless_digital_camera.html\/BI\/7953\/KBID\/8488\/\" class=\"content-keyword-linked\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">FUJIFILM X-T4<\/a>), some FUJINON zoom lenses for versatility, a small gimbal, and a small audio kit, depending on the production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A good tripod (never neglect that) and an external monitor ( <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/1401565-REG\/atomos_atomnjav01_ninja_v_5_4k.html\/BI\/7953\/KBID\/8488\/\" class=\"content-keyword-linked\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Atomos Ninja V<\/a>) along with my MacBook. For lenses, since I\u2019m also a professional photographer, I can use most of my X-mount lenses for my filmmaking as well depending on the project with the ability to use the amazing and reliable autofocus available on the FUJIFILM bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also use the FUJINON MK 18-55mm T2.9, which is fantastic for most of my professional work. Did you impose on yourself any limitations like not shooting with a tripod?<\/strong><br>For my short film, I believe the biggest challenge was to shoot a compelling story at only one location, which, in this case, was a single-family house. I could have easily explored some different locations to help tell the story, but I chose not to. This was definitely the biggest creative limitation of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favorite lighting equipment, and why did you choose that kit over other solutions?<\/strong><br>For <em>Aion <\/em>short film we decided to go with some ARRI lights, but I strongly believe LED is the future and I\u2019m a huge fan of Aputure fixtures. If so, what is the most effective way you\u2019ve found of deploying them?<\/strong><br>Although I\u2019m a huge fan of drones and gimbals, we didn\u2019t use them on set for <em>Aion<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What editing systems do you use and are you satisfied working with them?<br><\/strong>I started with Final Cut and later, migrated to Premiere Pro, since I already had the Adobe Creative Cloud for my photography needs (Photoshop &amp; Lightroom), so it felt like the natural move to make. It still gives me a lot of dynamic range with a fairly \u201cflat\u201d look, but with a great starting point for color grading.
