If you are into production and especially in a “one man band” configuration, you will grow to learn and appreciate the importance of clear sound. At times, not only a clear sound is required but hiding the lavaliere microphone will result in a “better looking” or should I write, “more professional looking” video.
Our friend Joe Marine from nofilmschool spotted a video made by Izzy Hyman featuring 7 great tips on “how to hide your Lavaliere microphone”.  Izzy’s tips are great and truly worth sharing.
Some of my respected colleagues don’t like using Lavaliere microphones and if they need to use them, they will try doing so without hiding them which is the preferred way for better sound, but, understanding the shape and direction modern documentary shooting is taking when budget is becoming an issue and a professional soundman will not always be recruited, it’s better mastering some of those useful techniques for good and “invisible”sound.
