We posted about Panolapse the other week; Software that adds motion to static, wide angle time-lapses.
They have now added a RAWBlend feature, which keyframes exposures to enable smooth transitions via metadata.
This is an established problem with time-lapse photography, flickering images due to exposure shifts; there are various work arounds to combat this.
This technique uses keyframing. You simply set keyframe exposures for key points of you time-lapse (usually start, finish and any other points in time where severe shift in conditions occur) and using the metadata from these adjustments, the software eases data changes for in-between frames.
It’s worth noting that this technique is nothing new. LRTimelapse has been utilising a similar workflow for some time, which works great with Lightroom. However it’s great to see plugins like this being brought down in price therefore more accessible to the budget filmmaker.
