8Sinn has just introduced its cage and rigging options for the Panasonic LUMIX GH6. This lightweight aluminum-made cage features 1/4″-20 mounting points on the top, left, and right sides, and an optional HDMI cable clamp will give you an extra layer of security. Let’s take a closer look at it!
The Panasonic LUMIX GH6 was freshly announced a couple of days ago. The least we can say is that it has pretty impressive specifications. It can record in Apple ProRes internally, you can shoot in 5.7K resolution at up to 60 frames per second, and the camera’s low-light capabilities have been greatly improved.
Like with every camera launch, third-party accessory manufacturers are usually fast to announce their dedicated cages for every camera that comes out. In the footsteps of Zacuto, Smallrig, and Tilta – Polish manufacturer 8Sinn has just launched its cage for the Panasonic LUMIX GH6.
The 8Sinn cage for the Panasonic LUMIX GH6 has a pretty simple design. It wraps around the camera without obstructing it too much. On the left and right sides of the cage, you’ll find a couple of 1/4″-20 mounting points. Also, there’s a strap holder on the right side of the cage.
The top of the cage offers multiple 1/4″-20 mounting points, one 3/8″-16 threaded hole with ARRI locating pins to attach a top handle, and one coldshoe mount. Moreover, this cage does not obstruct the camera’s built-in coldshoe, so you’ll get two coldshoe mounting points in total.
The cage secures to your GH6 via one 1/4″-20 screw at the bottom of the cage. Moreover, two anti-rotation lips at the front will prevent your camera from spinning. At the cage’s base, you’ll find multiple 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points to securely attach your favorite quick release plate to the LUMIX GH6.
8Sinn also developed an optional HDMI cable clamp that screws to the left side of the cage via two M4 screws. The two screws on the left side of the clamp are to adjust how tight you want your cable to be clamped.
Last but not least, 8Sinn also offers three bundles with different top handles if you don’t already have one.
The 8Sinn cage for the Panasonic LUMIX GH6 is available now for $149.00. The optional HDMI cable clamp is $23.00. The 8Sinn Black Raven top handle bundle is $224.00, the Scorpio bundle is $257.00, and the PRO top handle bundle is $288.00.
