SWIT has released a compact and versatile 120W four-ports USB-C/A charger: the SWIT UC-2120. This wall charger can charge camera batteries and laptops via its two USB-C ports and smart devices/tablets/camera accessories via the 36W USB-A ports. So let’s take a closer look at it!
SWIT is well-known for its high-quality lineup of V-Mount/Gold Mount camera batteries. The newly released BIVO B-Mount series is an excellent example of the company’s dedication to creating interesting products.
Earlier this year, SWIT released a USB-C lineup of DV batteries for Panasonic/Sony/Canon cameras. These batteries feature a built-in D-Tap power output and 45W USB-C in and out port. However, the company did not have a USB-C charger. With the introduction of the powerful SWIT UC-2120 four-ports GaN charger, this is now something of the past.
The SWIT UC-2120 is a 120W GaN charger with two USB-C (100W maximum output) and two USB-A ports (36W max. output). If you’re new to GaN chargers, Gallium Nitride chargers are slowly, but surely replacing silicon chargers: they are faster, produce less heat, are more compact, and more secure.
The UC-2120 can power up to four devices simultaneously (max. 120W output), even the most power-hungry laptops like the 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro. That’s very convenient when you’re on the road and have limited outlets available.
Using only one USB-C output, you can charge devices up to 20V/5A. However, you’re limited to a maximum of 20V/3A per port in dual USB-C output mode.
As I mentioned, the SWIT UC-2120 can charge USB-C DV batteries, but it can also charge SWIT’s V-Mount/B-Mount batteries via USB-C. Of course, USB-C charging is slower than a dedicated V/B-Mount charger, but it can prevent you from bringing an extra piece of equipment when traveling lightweight.
The SWIT UC-2120 is available now for €149. Two versions are available with an EU or UK power plug, and both come with two USB-C to C cables.
