MASV Completes AWS Integration with “Send from Amazon S3” Feature

MASV file sharing service recently announced that they completed their Amazon S3 Integration with a new “Send from Amazon S3” feature. The feature eliminates the need to download from cloud storage onto a local machine and then re-upload later for transfer. So let’s take a closer look at it!

MASV (also known as massive.io) is a pay-as-you-go file delivery service designed for content creators and filmmakers who need to send/receive large amounts of footage and data as quickly as possible. The company recently upgraded its service with 10Gbps capabilities, so there are no speed limits when sending files.

Back in 2020, MASV launched a “Deliver to Amazon S3” feature that let clients upload their footage directly to Amazon’s cloud service. The Amazon S3 integration into MASV is now complete with the new “Send from Amazon S3” feature.

The new MASV “Send from Amazon S3” feature lets you select files from your AWS storage and share them via a MASV link or email. In short, you no longer need to download footage from cloud storage onto your local machine and re-upload it later to transfer.

This complete Amazon AWS integration into MASV with “deliver” and “send” functionalities should vastly simplify your workflow if you often need to send or receive footage from clients or contractors. In addition, if you link your Amazon S3 account with MASV, you can transfer up to 15TB per individual, which is gigantic.

How does it work?

MASV makes it very simple: open up your MASV account, link your Amazon S3 account, and enable the new “Send from Amazon S3” option. Then, you can select the file destination and choose files from your Amazon S3 account to transfer them like “normal” MASV files.

Finally, according to MASV, you’ll still benefit from their file security and encryption system, which are TPN and ISO27001 certified.

Price and availability

The AWS integration into MASV is now complete and is available at no additional cost. However, as a reminder, MASV is a paid service that costs $0.25 per GB that you send, and if you want to keep your files accessible for more than ten days, it’ll cost you an extra $0.10/GB a month.
