FALCAM introduced the Maglink System, a camera strap system with a magnetic quick-release mechanism and an almost unlimited payload. They come in three different sizes, starting at $29,99 for the Lite version, $46,99 for the Classic version, and $59,99 for the Pro version. We talked to Taylor Cubbie from FALCAM about the Maglink System on this year’s NAB show floor. Let’s check out these new camera straps!
We know FALCAM as a manufacturer of camera accessories like the camera cage for Panasonic LUMIX GH6, the Quick-Release Camera Cage V2 for Sony A1/A7, or the F38 Quick-Release for DJI RS 3 Mini. But this time they came up with something perhaps even more useful – camera straps with magnets!
You might think that a camera strap is one of the simplest products imaginable since it holds your camera around your neck and that’s it. But the Maglink system is much smarter, as you can carry your camera with the strap around the shoulder, and if you want to use it you can detach the camera using the Maglink system with just one small movement.
But is it really safe? Could my camera possibly fall off? My colleague Graham had the same exact thoughts and if you haven’t watched his interview, the short answer is yes – it’s really safe, strong, and reliable.
The FALCAM Maglink Camera Straps come in three different sizes: Lite, Classic, and Pro version. They all have the same almost unlimited payload of up to 60kg/132lb. The difference is the size of the strap and the padding for your shoulder. But if you have your own favorite straps that you don’t want to change, you can buy the Maglinks separately, which is quite nice!
The Classic and the Pro version are only available in Snow Rock Grey, but the Lite version comes in Snow Rock Grey, Pine Needle Green, Twilight Blue, and Iris Purple. So, you can match the color of your camera strap with your personal outfit for the shooting day. Very fashionable and very well-thought, FALCAM!
The MagLink camera straps with the magnetic quick-release system are already available for pre-ordering and should start shipping soon:
