The Hollyland Soldidcom C1 Pro is a full-duplex wireless intercom system that lets you keep your hands free while communicating with other team members on set up to a maximum distance of 350m/1,100ft. This 4-headset kit includes a master unit and 3 remotes, but it can be expanded by purchasing additional headsets for up to 9 team members. The biggest selling point of the Pro version over the standard model is the addition of environmental noise cancellation (ENC) technology.
The SmallHD Indie 5 is part of the company’s Smart 5 Series, which was first introduced at IBC 2022. This 5” SDI/HDMI on-camera touchscreen monitor offers a resolution of 1920×1080, 10-bit color depth, 1000 nits of brightness, and the amazing PageOS 5 software, which includes a full set of monitoring tools.
In particular, this version comes with the RED RCP2 camera control software upgrade installed, thus allowing you to control the settings on your RED KOMODO or DSMC3 camera via a dedicated EXT 9-pin to 5-pin USB Camera Control Cable.
The Portkeys PT6 is an extremely affordable solution if you’re looking for a compact on-camera monitor. It supports HDMI-only inputs up to 4K30p and features a 5.2” IPS LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920×1080 and 600 nits of brightness.
The device can be powered using a single Sony NP-F style battery and offers a complete set of monitoring tools, such as histogram, waveform, false color zebra, RGB parade, vectorscope, focus peaking, anamorphic de-squeeze, and more.
The Lexar 1TB Professional CFexpress Type B GOLD Series card is a high-capacity media that is designed to support high-resolution and high frame-rate recording with the latest mirrorless and cinema cameras. The card is even officially approved by RED for use with their V-RAPTOR cameras and the newly-announced KOMODO-X.
The card is 8K-RAW-ready, has a maximum read and write speed of 1900 and 1500MB/s respectively, and guarantees a minimum write speed of 1300MB/s. Moreover, it is shock and vibration-resistant and can also withstand extreme temperatures.
The Sabrent CFexpress Type B Card Reader has a maximum data transfer rate of 950MB/s, thus allowing you to quickly offload footage stored on CFexpress Type B media. It features solid aluminum construction and connects to your computer via the included USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable. The reader is compatible with both Windows and Mac machines.
The Sirui 50mm f/1.8 1.33x anamorphic lens is a great option if you’d like to take your first steps in the world of anamorphic. I used to own the E-mount version of this glass and I was always impressed by its sharpness, especially given the price point.
The lens is designed to cover APS-C sensors and this version is engineered specifically for FUJIFILM X-Mount cameras, such as the new X-H2 and X-H2S. It allows you to shoot 2.4:1 content on a 16:9 sensor and produces classic blue light streaks.
This accessory kit from SmallRig is an essential piece of equipment if you want to fully rig your Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro. The set includes a full cage, a NATO top handle, a wooden NATO side handle, a mini NATO rail, an HDMI clamp, a clamp for external Samsung T5 SSD drives, 2 screen protectors, and a sun hood. It offers several 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threaded holes for attaching additional accessories.
This rigging solution from Tilta is designed to protect your Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K or 6K, while also providing additional mounting points for accessories. The kit includes a full camera cage, a quick-release top handle, an SSD holder for Samsung T5 drives as well as a 90° USB-C cable and HDMI adapter. The cage features a stylish Tactical Gray finish and is made of aluminum and stainless steel parts.
Whether you need to mount a monitor, a wireless video system, or any other accessory to your camera rig, a Noga arm is something you should always carry in your bag. The Noga Cine Arm DG Hold-It Arm is a 3-joint mounting arm with 1/4”-20 screws on both ends and a central locking lever. The accessory is made of rugged metal with an anodized black oxide finish and, according to the manufacturer, it can support a maximum load of 4.5kg/10lbs.
The Magnus VT-4000 is an affordable tripod that is designed to support cameras weighing up to 4kg/8.8lbs. Its height is adjustable from 70cm/27.6” to 150cm/59” using the 2-stage legs and the middle spreader. The tripod comes with a 65mm ball video fluid head, weighs 3.58kg/7.9lbs, and is made of anodized aluminum.
If you often work with heavier camera packages, then take a look at the Magnus REX VT-6000. This model can withstand a maximum payload of 7.7kg/17lbs. The weight of the tripod is 5.53kg/12.2 lbs and its height is adjustable from 74.42cm/33.5” to 165.10cm/65” using the 2-stage legs and central spreader. The tripod comes with a 75mm half-ball video fluid head.
If you need to carry a lot of gear and several cases over long distances on set, then a film cart is essential to save your back. The INOVATIV Voyager 42 has a maximum weight capacity of 272kg/600lbs and measures 116.6×103.9×62.7cm/45.9×40.9×24.7” when in use. The cart is completely collapsable into a flight-ready case without the need for tools and features rigid aluminum construction and pneumatic tires on steel wheels.
The GVM BD45R is a 45W LED RGB tube light that can be ideal for content creators and independent filmmakers. It offers a wide color temperature range of 2,700-10,000K in CCT mode, scores a high CRI 97 rating, and has 12-built in lighting effects. The light can be fired up using main powers, but can also draw juice from external NP-F style batteries. The fixture has a built-in OLED screen and control buttons, but settings can also be adjusted using the dedicated smartphone app via Bluetooth or via DMX control.
When it comes to handheld audio recorders, the Zoom H4N is the go-to choice of many sound guys. This portable solution features an onboard stereo microphone capsule and two XLR mic/line/instrument inputs. The device supports 4-channel recording in WAV format with a sample rate of 96kHz. Files are stored on an SD card. The recorder also has a 3.5mm headphone output for monitoring, and this version comes in a sleek brown finish.
The Rycote HC-22 is a compact shotgun microphone that connects to your camera or audio recorder via a gold-plated Neutrik XLR connector. The microphone requires 24 or 48V Phantom power to work and claims to deliver clear sound with minimal noise and interference. The HC-22 comes with a convenient travel case, while other add-ons such as windshields and mounting accessories are available to purchase separately.
The Arco Video Dr. Bag 20 is designed to carry cameras that have a maximum length of 41.9cm/16.5”. The bag features a hard outer shell lined with water-resistant fabric, interior padding, and weather-sealed YKK zippers to help protect your gear from shock, moisture, and dust. Moreover, it has a metal frame so it won’t collapse over time. Inside, you will find a set of removable padded dividers, while a large zippered pocket and a pair of touch-fastener pockets can be found on the outside of the bag.
The Manfrotto 192N Pro Light Camcorder bag is compatible with a wide range of video cameras, including the Canon C300 Mark II and Blackmagic Design URSA Mini, for example. It features a top-loading design with a dual-zippered opening and is made of a water-repellant Ripstop nylon material on the outside.
