DoPchoice introduced the SNAPBAG AIRGLOW for 2×1′ lights earlier this year. At NAB 2024, they have unveiled the AIRGLOW for 1×1′ lights. This system allows you to create a large, soft light source without multiple modifiers and stands. Its unique inflatable frame allows it to be both sturdy and lightweight. Let’s take a first look!
If you need a large, soft, light source, it is hard to beat a booklight. The combination of bouncing and diffusing the light allows a smaller fixture to produce a lovely soft glow. The challenge with creating a booklight on set is that it can be both time-consuming and requires multiple flags and stands. The DoPChoice AIRGLOW replaces all this with a single modifier.
The new SNAPBAG AIRGLOW from DoPChoice fits over standard 1×1 LED fixtures. This expands the offerings from the 2×1 debuted in February. The SNAPBAG AIRGLOW has a dual tube system that inflates with a pump. This system will hold its shape while remaining lightweight.
Both the 2×1 and the 1×1 will fit over different brands of lights. DoPchoice did put some special effort into ensuring they fit the Creamsource Vortex lights in particular.
Normally, it takes a lot of flags, stands, frames, a bounce, and diffusion to set up a booklight. On the other hand, the entire SNAPBAG AIRGLOW system collapses into a duffle bag, including the pump.
The DoPchoice SNAPBAG AIRGLOW allows you to change out the bounce on the inside. This could be a hard silver bounce, ultra-bounce, bleached or unbleached muslin. The front of the unit can also take different kinds of diffusion.
If you want to control the spill of the Airglow, a grid is also available. This allows you to have that soft look on your subject without it spilling onto the background. This helps to separate your subject from the background and produce depth in your image.
Bouncing and diffusing your light will turn a good light source into a magical one. It softens the shadows and adds gentle gradation to the shadows on your subject. This is especially helpful when you are lighting for a soft, beautiful commercial look. But creating those looks takes time and extra gear. The DoPchoice SNAPBAG AIRGLOW reduces the setup time and keeps your set uncluttered.
The DoPchoice SNAPBAG AIRGLOW for 2×1 is available now, while the 1×1 version should arrive in the next few months. It retails for roughly €1.200.
