Canon announced a new firmware update to improve image stabilization for their PowerShot V10 Vlog camera. The update will improve the camera’s performance while in motion, and users will also have enhanced IS mode settings. Let’s see what this update does!
The Canon PowerShot V10 was introduced back in 2023 as the company’s first attempt to create an easy-to-use camera specifically designed for content creators, especially those who are focused on vlogging. Johnnie had an interesting talk with Canon’s David Parry to learn everything there is to now about it. In case you missed it, you can watch/read all about it here.
The highlights of this pocket-sized camera include a flip-up screen so you can see yourself while shooting, a built-in stand with multiple positions, and a built-in, high-quality stereo microphone. There is a prominent On/Off recording button on the front, and the camera’s controls are straightforward, which can be a plus for beginners and those new to vlogging.
This firmware update improves the camera’s stability when the user is in motion, offering “On” and “Enhanced” Image Stabilization mode settings tailored to the specific type of scene being filmed. Blur levels have also been addressed and corrected with high precision, according to Canon.
The firmware update for the PowerShot V10 camera is expected to be available later this month (June 2024). Visit their website for more information!

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. An American, I’ve lived and worked in Vienna for many years both as a photographer and a photography teacher. Currently I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval immersive theater group. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
