Dear reader of this blog. Whether you’re a religious person or not, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, at this time of year I’d like to wish you calmness and peace from the stress and burden you might carry through your everyday life.
I don’t know how it is in your part of the world, but here in Austria the tradition of celebrating this time is increasingly being commercialized and Christmas values like contentedness, friendship and contemplation are lost. Instead pressure and hectic rush for gifts is getting bigger and bigger.
So as a fellow hdslr shooter and part time writer of this blog my Christmas present to you is this friendly reminder:These days are here for you to remind you how it is to calm down, to remind you that life is hard and to feel you need a break, to remind you to be quiet for a moment, to remind you of the qualities of community, family and friendship, to remind you that being alone isn’t cool, that not everything is as it should be, that you’re needed, to remind you that a loving home is something special, that some people don’t have a home as comfortable and safe as yours, in fact when you look at the reason why we celebrate Christmas: that God put himself into the worst possible and most helpless conditions born as a child, and made and makes a tremendous difference presenting the values we cherish during this time, looking at the origin of this tradition can make an important difference in Christmas and in our lives. It has in mine.
Merry Christmas and God’s blessings to you.
