Accsoon has just introduced a new cage specifically designed for the iPad Mini 6: the iPad PowerCage Mini. This cage features multiple cold shoes and 1/4″-20 mounting points, and it comes with a Sony NP-F battery plate. Also, you can mount a SeeMo HDMI or Pro SDI adapter at the back of the cage to turn your iPad Mini 6 into an 8.3″ on-camera monitor, or combine it with a CineView wireless receiver to make it a director’s monitor. So, let’s take a closer look at this new cage!
The Accsoon SeeMo was first introduced in 2022 and allows you to convert the HDMI output of your camera into an iOS-compatible video signal so you can use your smartphone or tablet as an on-camera monitor. Earlier this year, the company released the SeeMo Pro, an advanced version with both SDI and HDMI inputs and an SDI output.
Regarding cages for iPads, Accsoon already has various models available for the regular iPad Gen 5-10, iPad Air, and iPad Pros, including the PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II. The small hole in the company’s lineup of iPad cages is now filled with the introduction of the iPad PowerCage Mini, compatible with the 8.3″ iPad Mini 6.
The Accsoon iPad PowerCage Mini is made of aluminum and weighs 162g/0.35 lbs. This cage, as opposed to the PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II, is only compatible with the iPad Mini 6. You’ll find a custom TPU Gel insert inside the cage to protect your iPad.
All around the cage, you’ll find no less than thirteen 1/4″-20 mounting points and four cold shoe mounts. Also, the left/right sides are NATO-compatible so that you can attach compatible handles or accessories directly to them.
The Accsoon iPad PowerCage Mini also comes with a sun hood with a tab design so you can quickly fold/unfold it and protect your screen.
At the back of the cage, you’ll find multiple mounting points that allow you to attach a SeeMo or SeeMo Pro adapter. Furthermore, the iPad PowerCage Mini comes with the Accsoon ACC04 battery plate.
This plate lets you power your iPad with Sony NP-F style batteries via the 30W USB-C PD input/output port. The plate also features a USB-A and USB-C output and a 6-8.4V DC output. Last but not least, you can use the ACC04 battery plate to charge your Sony NP-F battery if you use a power bank or wall adapter.
The Accsoon iPad PowerCage Mini will be available later this month for $109.
