Angelbird has just released a new lineup of memory cards for drones and action cameras: the AV PRO microSDXC V30 UHS-I A2. These new affordable cards are available in three flavors – 128GB, 256GB and 512GB – and can reach a maximum read speed of 100 MB/s and a full write speed of 90 MB/s. So let’s take a closer look at these!
Austrian memory card manufacturer Angelbird is well-known amongst content creators for creating high-quality products without compromises and serious data-security concerns. If you missed it, check out our Angelbird factory tour to discover how they make memory cards.
The company already had a lineup of microSDXC memory cards – the AV PRO V60 UHS-II – with high read/write speeds. However, if you don’t need top-of-the-line transfer speeds and are looking for a good compromise between speed and price, the new AV PRO microSDXC V30 UHS-I A2 should be a perfect choice.
The Angelbird AV PRO microSDXC V30 UHS-I A2 cards are designed to be used with popular non-filmmaking-related items such as Android smartphones and tablets, Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, security cameras, or any device that might take microSD cards.
However, you can also use them with drones and action/360°/POV cameras from various manufacturers such as GoPro, Insta360 and DJI.
If we talk specifications and numbers, the cards can reach a maximum read speed of 100 MB/s and a maximum write speed of 90 MB/s. These numbers are top speeds, and Angelbird claims sustained read speeds of 95 MB/s and 80 MB/s in write. According to Angelbird, “Stable Stream technology delivers optimal speed, performance, and reliability for stable and smooth production results.”
The cards are available in three flavors: 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. Like most Angelbird products, these new memory cards are built to last and survive harsh shooting environments. Indeed, they are protected from moisture, x-ray, magnets, shock, dust, and extreme operating temperatures of -25°C to 85°C and storage temperatures of -40°C to 85°C.
Each microSDXC memory card comes with a full-size SD card adapter, a 3-year limited warranty, and free in-house data recovery.
All Angelbird AV PRO 30 microSDXC memory cards are available now. The 128 GB version retails for €25.31/$24.99, the 256 GB model is €47.99/$39.99, and the 512 GB card will cost you €83.99/$69.99.
