Artlist, a company specializing in a plethora of digital assets for video content creators, has now expanded their offerings with an AI voice generator called Voiceover. Write the text, choose an appropriate voice, and Voiceover’s AI will produce a narration that sounds remarkably human. Let’s have a closer look!
Artlist began as a music licensing platform in 2016, offering video content creators access to royalty-free music. Over the years, the company has expanded their services significantly with the acquisition of platforms like Motion Array, which offers a wide range of digital assets, including sound effects, video templates, and plugins. They also acquired FXHome, which offers video and image editing software, further solidifying their position as a comprehensive solution for content creators.
Voiceover is designed to be user-friendly and straightforward. Browse through a variety of voices (exclusive to Artlist) under the Voice Generator tab, filter by gender and video type if desired, listen to the samples, and select one that best fits your video. Next, enter the text you want converted to speech in the text box. There are hints and tweaks to refine the narration to your liking, and, in addition, you can specify if you want the narration to sound more emotional or match the original voice as closely as possible in the settings. You’ll find all of your generated voiceovers saved under the My Voiceover tab. Download, and that’s it! You can always “regenerate” if you want a different result or go back and select a different voice.
Voiceover uses a credit system as follows:
How many credits do you have with a subscription? If you’re with the AI Voiceover or Max Pro plan, you get 50,000 credits monthly, and 75,000 if you’re subscribed to the Max Team plan. If your current subscription plan doesn’t include Voiceover, you get 400 trial credits.
Yes, there are other AI-generated text-to-speech options out there – we wrote an overview of some of the tools that specialize in AI sound production here. Lovo.ai is one, with prices starting at $24/month that includes 5 hours of voice generation a month, multilingual voices, automatic subtitle generation, and more. Speechify is more expensive and is likely best suited for those producing numerous videos. Starting at $69 per month, it offers a comprehensive suite of features, including dubbing, transcription, licensed soundtracks, and access to stock images and videos.
Artlist subscriptions are priced for individuals and businesses and include different options. For example, a Voiceover subscription will cost you $11.99/month, and the price for an Artlist Max subscription is $39.99 to access all of Artlist’s offerings. You can find detailed information about all the options and the licenses they cover here. For more information on what they offer, have a look at the Artlist website.
If you would like to try Voiceover, you can sign up for a free trial and receive 400 credits, as well as test their other offers. Please note that voiceovers generated with trial credits will be stored in the “My Voiceovers” tab in your account, but they cannot be downloaded or licensed for use in your projects.

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. An American, I’ve lived and worked in Vienna for many years both as a photographer and a photography teacher. Currently I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval immersive theater group. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
