CAME-TV just launched the Remote Controlled Slider for DJI RS2: a motorized remote slider that uses the DJI RS2 as a robotic pan and tilt head. Let’s talk about its features.
Packaged as a complete travel kit, the expandable Remote Controlled Slider for DJI RS2 comes with rail components to build 11’ of track. The included six-leg posts allow you to rise the dolly track up to a height of 2.62’, additionally, the track supports can easily connect to c-stands to take you to any height.
The Dana Dolly-like system relies on a synchronous belt and motor to move along the rails. All of the motors, cables, antenna, and connecting components fit inside of a durable carrying case.
CAME-TV constructed a very straightforward 2.4 GHz remote that controls the motion of the dolly, as well as the movement of the DJI RS2 together. The remote can set A and B points to allow you to program repeatable moves and other standard functions, and CAME-TV claims an operating range of up to 164’.
Though the system has been designed for the RS2, the Remote Controlled Slider offers compatibility with any camera. The included 75mm & 100mm ball adaptors allow you to mount a wide range of tripod heads, and the system supports payloads up to 110.2lbs.
Setting up and deconstructing any large dolly system is never an easy feat. A rig like this will take time to built during your shoot. CAME-TV built this system for people, who need to make large, repeatable dolly moves for live event shoots. But this could also make switching from gimbal shots to dolly shots a breeze.
The CAME-TV Remote Controlled Slider for DJI RS2 is available for purchase now and costs $1,899. They also sell a shorter five-foot version for $1,260.
What do you think? Would you like to be able to turn your DJI RS2 into a portable dolly system? Let us know in the comments below.
