Here’s another new company that joined the ever growing video dslr rig market. They seem to be US (Florida) based and they have a railsupport and a dolly in their lineup so far. The handheld rig and the follow focus (as seen above) are not yet available.
Looking at the “DIY” section on the Cineik website and inspecting the design from the photos I would say it’s yet another DIY project that turned into a business.
The Cineik baseplate is $200. Rails not included. Is that affordable or not? Well, the most afforbale one I could find was the ikan railsupportwhich is $190, rails included, the Zacuto railsupport is $400 and is certainly of higher quality and from a company that has long experience in efficient equipment as well as the Vocas for $500.
So yes, it seems like the Cineik is aiming to offer affordable dslr gear but before we can see if it holds up to the quality you need we’ll have to wait for some of you to share your experiences with Cineik gear.
