The UK-based online shop CVP currently offers an interesting promotion for Panasonic LUMIX S1H cameras. Every purchase will get you a free Atomos Ninja V to provide a 5.9K ProRes RAW combo. The offer is valid till March 29, 2021.
Announced back in summer 2019, the full-frame mirrorless camera Panasonic LUMIX S1H has been making some headlines in summer 2020 again. The reason was that Panasonic together with Atomos finally released the ProRes RAW capture option with the recorder Atomos Ninja V.
This combo is capable of recording 12-bit ProRes RAW files in full-frame 5.9K resolution (5888 x 3312) in 23.98p and 29.97p in NTSC and in 25p in PAL. It can also record in Super35 crop mode in DCI 4K (4128 x 2176) 17:9 mode in 23.98p, 29.97p, and 59.94p in NTSC and in 25p and 50p in PAL.

Our partner online shop CVP based in the UK currently offers a nice promotion. For every Panasonic LUMIX S1H purchase, customers will get a free Atomos Ninja V recorder. The promotion started on January 14, 2021, and will be available till March 29, 2021.
CVP Buy Link: Panasonic LUMIX S1H with Free Atomos Ninja V
Please note that to buy this bundle, you need to scroll down on the page and click on “Buy Bundle” next to the right set. It is nice to see that CVP offers free EU shipping on this order. For European customers from outside the UK, in regards to Brexit, VAT, and possible import taxes, please read more here.
It is worth mentioning that this promotion does not get you a ready-to-shoot ProRes RAW package. In case you don’t yet have any accessories whatsoever at home, apart from an obvious purchase of a lens for the camera, you will also need to purchase a fast HDMI cable (preferably an original one from Atomos), SSD media for the Ninja V, some cold shoe monitor mount, and some NP-F batteries with a charger. That should be enough for a basic handheld ProRes RAW ready-to-shoot package.
When it comes to post-production, perhaps the best editing experience with ProRes RAW is currently possible in Final Cut Pro X on Apple computers. Other NLEs that support working with ProRes RAW natively are Adobe Premiere Pro, ASSIMILATE SCRATCH, Colorfront, FilmLight Baselight, and Grass Valley Edius.
Do you use your camera with the Ninja V recorder? What do you think about the workflow? Would you consider trying out the S1H with the Ninja V for ProRes RAW? Let us know in the comments underneath the article.
