Blackmagic Design has just released another small update for its 18.5 beta version of the popular NLE DaVinci Resolve.
The public beta 4 update includes improvements in the controls of subtitle export. Only subtitles that have been actively turned on will now be rendered and displayed on the export.
The update improves the system’s stability when displaying clip handles on the color page. This will, according to Blackmagic Design, make the grading process smoother.
The new version also adds scripting API improvements for track and timeline management. Users will be able to write scripts to automate commonly used functions for placing and replacing visual effects on their timeline, therefore speeding up the post-production process and reducing the error count.
In the studio version, this update now includes traditional as well as simplified Mandarin for audio transcription and subtitling. Check out our short tip video on how the audio transcription feature works here:
Also updated are the remote monitoring functions – this time to better support vertical resolutions when remote monitoring. This improves the quality of live streaming the footage to an offsite director or client.
The new version now supports BRAW 3.2, includes a number of bug fixes, and the always welcome general performance and stability improvements.
You can download DaVinci Resolve directly from Blackmagic Design’s website or from retailers such as B&H and CVP.
