Elgato has just released a new Stream Deck model with eight customizable buttons, a touchscreen, and four endless dials: the Stream Deck +. This compact unit is compatible with Adobe software, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. Furthermore, you can also use Stream Deck + with DaVinci Resolve to access and control multiple parameters. So let’s take a closer look at it!
The Elgato Stream Deck control panel was first introduced back in 2017 and is sitting on most content creators’ desks. This add-on accessory gives you 15 customizable buttons and is very handy. Over the years, the company released multiple versions with more buttons, fewer buttons, and even no buttons, like the Elgato Stream Deck Pedal.
However, I always wished for control dials on my Stream Deck. Dials allow you to adjust settings that are impossible to do with buttons. This is something of the past with the new Elgato Stream Deck +!
The Elgato Stream Deck + is a reasonably compact controller with only 140x138x110mm dimensions. The controller connects to your Windows/Mac computer via USB-C and is bus powered.
Unfortunately, Elgato only provides a USB-C to USB-A cable in the box – it’s 2022, and I would have loved to get a USB-C to USB-C cable.
The Stream Deck + features eight small LCD buttons, a touchscreen LCD panel, and four clickable dials. Like every Elgato product, you can configure each button, dial, or touchscreen to do everything you want. Indeed, when you switch applications on your computer, Stream Deck + updates automatically. That means all your preferred App shortcuts and settings are always automatically there.
The Plus version gives you even more options than other Stream Deck models. For example, you can slide on the touchscreen to access different tools within an App. Also, you can click on the dials to change the setting you’re adjusting, which is handy.
Elgato already has various plugins depending on your needs and the kind of content you produce: Elgato Wave Link, Camera Hub, Control Center, OBS, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Spotify, Philips Hue, and many more.
For content creators, some third-party platforms like sideshowfx offer various pre-built profiles for Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and now DaVinci Resolve. The Resolve integration looks very well made. This pack will be available in December 2022 and is only available for Windows users for now.
The Elgato Stream Deck + is available now for $199.99/€229.99.
