FilmConvert has just released new camera packs for the FUJIFILM X-H2S, compatible with both Nitrate and CineMatch plugins. Both packs can be downloaded directly from FilmConvert’s website, allowing you to easily grade and match your X-H2S footage with other cameras. So let’s take a closer look at it!
The FUJIFILM X-H2S was released a couple of months ago. The least we can say is that this mirrorless camera has a lot to offer in a compact form factor: it features a new 26.16MP X-Trans sensor, and it can record internally in 4:2:2 10-bit Apple ProRes HQ/LT/Proxy in up to 6.2K/30P and 4:2:2 10-bit H.265 in up to 4K/120p and FHD/240p. Furthermore, we tested the FUJIFILM X-H2S’ dynamic range and found a dynamic range of around 12 stops, with 9 stops of exposure latitude, which is pretty good for an S35 mirrorless camera. You can also watch our review and mini-documentary shot with the X-H2S in case you missed it.
FilmConvert’s plugins are designed to speed up your post-production workflow with easy-to-use controls. CineMatch is a color correction plugin that allows you to easily color-match different cameras with a click of a button. On the other hand, FilmConvert Nitrate is a color grading tool to help you replicate specific film looks, including the color and grain of various film stocks.
All plugins are based on the camera sensors’ data profiled individually by the FilmConvert team. The company releases updates and new camera packs on a regular basis, including the recent Canon EOS R3 and EOS R5 C packs, the Sony a7 IV, Panasonic Lumix GH6, and many more.
These new FilmConvert FUJIFILM X-H2S camera packs are compatible with the camera’s Apple ProRes 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording – including the new F-Log2 picture profile – that should give you the most out of your colors when grading with FilmConvert’s plugins.
FilmConvert camera packs are always available to download for free for all existing users. You can download it along with support for a wide selection of other cameras directly from FilmConvert’s website.
Also, CineD readers can get FilmConvert’s CineMatch and Nitrate plugins for 20% off. In addition, you can purchase individual plugins for Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or FCPX. Bundles are also available if you need to jump from one NLE to another.
What do you think about this new camera pack for the FUJIFILM X-H2S? Did you have a chance to shoot with it yet? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments down below!
