FilmConvert has just released yet another camera pack for the Canon EOS C300 Mark III. As always, this profile is compatible with FilmConvert, FilmConvert Nitrate, and CineMatch, so you have a complete suite of tools to color correct, grade, and color match your footage.
FilmConvert is back at it, this time with a new camera pack for the Canon EOS C300 Mark III, after the ones for the Canon EOS R6, EOS R5, EOS C70, Sony a7S III, Panasonic S5, and so on.
If you’re new to FilmConvert plugins, you can watch our recent Quick Tip video about FilmConvert Nitrate for Final Cut Pro X. But, in short, these color matching (CineMatch) and color correction (FilmConvert/FilmConvert Nitrate) tools allows you to quickly and easily grade your footage based on your camera’s sensor data.
The Canon EOS C300 Mark III was released in April 2020, and if you missed it, you could watch our first look review and impressions here. In short, this modular camera features an APS-C (Super35) DGO sensor – similar to the one in the Canon EOS C70 – it can record internally in 4K Cinema RAW Light at up to 120fps, and it has state of the art Dual Pixel AF that works at every framerate/resolution/codec.
You probably got it; with user interchangeable lens mounts (EF/PL/EF Cinema Lock), 16+ stops of dynamic range, and a very modular design, the Canon EOS C300 Mark III is a great tool for documentary, corporate, and run and gun filmmakers.
Recently, Canon released a firmware update for both the Canon EOS C300 Mark III and C500 Mark II, which adds a ton of much-welcome addition to the cameras.
If the Canon EOS C300 Mark III is your go-to camera, FilmConvert has just released a new camera profile to make your life easier. Indeed, this profile will allow you to precisely match various Canon cameras together – or match it to another mirrorless/cinema camera – as well as color grade your footage to get the “film look.”
As usual with FilmConvert, this camera profile is available to download for free, but you need to have licensed the software to use it, of course. Yet you can try FilmConvert Nitrate and CineMatch for free, and you can even get a 10% discount on purchases from FilmConvert using this link.
For more information and to download it, please visit FilmConvert’s website here.
