Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of countries in the world are in complete lockdown. Hurlbut Academy is helping you spend these long days with the release of the Illumination Experience Workshop, for free. This 8-hour filmmaking and lighting course is pure gold, so let’s take a closer look at it!

In the last days, we have seen companies trying to help the filmmaking community, like Adobe with a free Creative Cloud “at home” access for schools and students impacted by Covid-19. These are great initiatives, and to help, the Hurlbut Academy just released their 8-hour Illumination Experience Workshop free of charge, for three months. This course is lighting oriented, and the least we can say is that it’s a wealth of information.
The Illumination Experience Workshop is divided into six parts:
For more than 8 hours, the director of photography Shane Hurlbut, ASC, will be your instructor. With over 30 years of industry experience and dozens of feature films including “Need For Speed”, “Terminator Salvation”, or “There’s No Place Like Home” to list a few, Shane Hurlbut shares all his lighting tips with you.
Having the opportunity to learn directly from Mr. Hurlbut is a gift for every film student or filmmaker. If you’ve been in the industry for one month or ten years, there are no doubts that you’ll learn something in this lighting course.
The Hurlbut Academy Illumination Experience Workshop is free until June 16th, and if you don’t have time to watch it now, don’t hesitate to bookmark it.
What do you think of the Hurlbut Academy Illumination Experience Workshop? Does this course interest you? What skills/software are you trying to learn during this lockdown? Let us know in the comments below!
