Full Frame Camera Co. is a Manchester-based rental company that released two exciting accessories for the Canon C300 Mark III and C500 Mark II: a V-Mount plate and rear cheese plate. If you only want to power your camera with a V-Mount battery and don’t need all the extra features of the Canon EU-V2 expansion module, these accessories can be attractive for you.
The Full Frame Camera Co. V-Mount plate is compatible with the Canon C300 Mark III and C500 Mark II. This plate attaches directly to the back of the camera using two included M4 bolts.
This plate is entirely made out of aluminum and powers the camera via a low profile XLR connector. Also, it features one D-Tap port (10A max.) on top of the plate to power your accessories. This extra D-Tap port does not get in the way of the camera’s SDI outputs ports.
One nice feature of the Full Frame Camera Co. V-Mount plate is that it allows you to use a V-Mount battery and Canon BP-A30/60 simultaneously. It means that you can hot-swap your V-Mount batteries without having to switch off the camera.
It is compatible with any V-Mount battery and can be mounted lower for a more streamlined setup, which is useful if you’re using larget V-Mount batteries.
The concept of the Full Frame Camera Co. Canon C300 Mark III/C500 Mark II rear cheese plate is similar to the V-Mount battery plate. The rear cheese plate attaches to the back of the camera via four M4 bolts. It gives access to ten 3/8″-16 anti-twist and seventeen (fourteen on the back, three on top of the plate) 1/4″-20 mounting points.
Also, there are additional threadings that are compatible with the IDX P-VMicro and Bebob VMM-Micro V-mount battery plates. For Gold Mount users, it is compatible with the Bebob AMM-Micro as well.
The Full Frame Camera Co. Canon C300 Mark III/C500 Mark II V-Mount Plate retails for $480.00/€400.00. The Rear Cheese Plate is $206.00/€175.00. Both accessories are available now on Full Frame Camera Co’s website.
If you don’t need all the extra features of the Canon EU-V2 expansion unit which costs $1599.00 – two XLR audio connectors, 24 VDC out Port, Genlock/Sync out, and so on – these Full Frame Camera Co. Canon C300 Mark III/C500 Mark II plates can be a good alternative.
How do you power your Canon C300 Mark III/C500 Mark II? Do you think these Full Frame Camera Co. could be interesting for you? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments below!
