Back in April at NAB we caught up with lighting and camera gear specialists F&V to check out their new EVF. They’ve just announced that the Spectra HD4 is now shipping.
For those who didn’t see it, here’s our interview with F&V on the Spectra HD4 EVF.
It’s a 720X1280 HD panel (a very popular resolution with all these small EVFs) with a viewing angle of 170° and contrast ratio of 800:1.
It can be used as a 4.3″ monitor or a viewfinder; simply snap down or raise the loupe according to your preference.
The menu hosts a collection of features and focus & exposure aids such as waveform, vectorscope, focus assist, zebra pattern, image flip, range error, OSD time display and time code.
It receives and outputs both HDMI and SDI, a neat feature is that it will also cross convert the signal (for example HDMI in, SDI out and vice versa), we’re starting to see more of this in products (SmallHD DP7-PRO, Zacuto EVF etc) lets keep this up, and make multiple versions per peripheral a thing of the past!
The Spectra HD4 is 1/4 20″ threaded with the addition of a rosette on the side for additional mounting, for power it takes Sony NPF batteries.
