The MOZA AirCross 2 is supposed to be a smaller, more compact alternative to the high-payload MOZA Air 2. The gimbal itself only weighs 950g (33.5oz), including battery. Gudsen does not define the maximum payload of the AirCross 2, the company simply states that the stabilizer should be able to handle most mirrorless cameras and DSLRs, with most micro-lenses and conventional lenses.

Though it might be hardly visible in the images, Gudsen claims that the gimbal features an innovative design, which holds the camera closer to the tilt motor. That should be useful when mounting a very wide camera body, like the BMPCC 4K. The camera’s batteries and memory card can be replaced without having to release, as the design allows for total access to the camera interface and battery cover. Furthermore, it should be quick and easy to switch the camera between portrait and landscape modes, thanks to an extra bracket.

The 3000mAh battery provides the MOZA AirCross 2 with up to 12 hours of battery life. Thanks to a USB fast charging interface and the external 18W power supply, it should be fully charged in only 1.5 hours. There is no mention if the battery is replaceable or built-in (I hope it is not built-in). Three Multi-CAN ports supply 7.8V of power to the follow focus and the camera.

Each axis of the gimbal has a latch to lock it and secure the camera and gimbal balance, in order to easily carry the MOZA AirCross 2 around and quickly start filming, without the need to re-balance each time.

The MOZA AirCross 2 is equipped with filming functions known from the bigger MOZA Air 2 – time-lapse, inception mode (360 roll axis rotation in torch mode), sport gear mode and multiple follow modes.

The gimbal can automatically adjust the motors, based on the total weight of the setup used. There are customizable buttons, like smart wheel, dial wheel and smart trigger. The OLED screen displays the gimbal status and camera parameters.

One 1/4″ and two 3/8″ screw ports allow users to mount various accessories and three Multi-CAN ports allow mounting dual follow focus or other equipment. The gimbal is also compatible with the Arca Swiss cage.

The price and availability of the MOZA AirCross 2 have not been revealed yet. We will update this article once the information is available.
