VideoMic
Houston, Texas. Game day. What started as an MOS shoot of some football
players in action, quickly turned into full length interviews of them. Andre Johnson and Maurice Jones Drew, two of the best football players in the country. It is Sunday in Houston 11AM, an hour before the game.
Luckily, I always bring my trusty RØDE VideoMic. This shock mounted video mic always travels with my kit for this very reason. I quickly put the mic on and did a test for the producer. He was happy enough with the sound quality of the test and off we went to the game.In these times of Run and Gun film making it helps to be resourceful and at $150.00 the RØDE VideoMic or something similar should be in everyone’s kit. Sound is never on the top of my list of things to buy for my 5D, but in this case I was so happy to have this little mic in my kit.Check out some of the footage and audio in episode #4 of the web series “Fantasy Over Reality”
