Earlier this month, Hive Lighting announced the Bumble Bee 25-C pocket fixture. This ultra-portable, Omni-color LED light is very compact, lightweight, draws only 25 watts, and you can control it wirelessly via a smartphone app.

After the wasp 100-c light, the Hornet 200C light, and the Bumble Bee 50-C, Hive Lighting is back with the Bumble Bee 25-C. The 25-C is Hive’s most compact fixture. The output of the 25-C is equivalent to a 150W incandescent lamp, and it draws only 25W. It can run off a battery or wall power.
The Bumble Bee 25-C is quite compact: only 2.5” (63mm) long, the front diameter is 4″ (100mm) wide, for a total weight of just 1 lbs/0.5 kg. For mounting purposes, there are multiple 1/4″ mounting points all over the light, so you can rig it to whatever you want/need.
To shape the naked 180° flood light, you can use Hive Lighting’s various Fresnel lenses, reflectors, drop-in lenses, and barn doors. The 25-C is also compatible with all Profoto accessories and Profoto adapters for light modifiers.
Finally, the 25-C is an accurate color light, with ratings up to 98 CRI and 97 TLCI. Plus, it is fully dimmable and features 0 to 100% saturation controls, as well as full 360° hue control.

Like all Hive LEDs, the BEE 25-C is compatible with Hive’s SHOT system and app, so that you can control the light wirelessly. Up to 8 Hive LED lights can be controlled individually in the app. Also, the SHOT app allows you to adjust the Saturation, Hue, Output, and color Temperature of the Bumble Bee 25-C. Finally, you can control the light via DMX.
The light should be available in June 2019, for a retail price of US$399. Check out all details on their website too.
