New York-based Valstech Inc has created an underwater case for the iPhone 6 and 7 called the “Lenzo”. It promises full underwater control of all your phone functions including the camera up to 330 feet beneath the surface. Details below:
As smartphone camera video technology continues to improve, crushing the business of sports camera leaders like GoPro along the way, the market for more professional accessories will undoubtedly continue to grow, especially into the underwater segment. The Lenzo is the most impressive underwater housing I’ve seen for the iPhone, and at $295, it won’t break the bank.
The Lenzo housing keeps the same field of view above and below the water and promises no soft corners on your image. Two internal UR Pro color correction filters can be flipped into place to give accurate colors underwater, and the optical dome is resistant to scratches and is coated to reduce reflections.
TapChannelTV has a great sample video of the iPhone 7 Lenzo in action:
Check out the company’s Instagram account for additional sample images.
Initially available for only the iPhone 6 and 6S, the Lenzo will be available for the iPhone 7 and 7S thanks to a Kickstarter campaign launched in late January of 2017.

As for out-of-the-water-shooting phone accessories, my colleague Tim Fok has a writeup on the Zeiss lens trio announced last year at CES. Article HERE.
Paired with an app like FiLMiC Pro I can see this being a great shooting tool for underwater video projects. Does this replace a true underwater professional housing? No, but the kind of results you can get with the Lenzo right out of the box makes it worth a look. If nothing else, think of it as dressing your phone up as a Minion and taking it for a swim.
Technical Highlights:
Availability: iPhone 6 & 6S housing available for order HERE. iPhone 7/7S coming soon.
Cost: $295.00
