Lexar are currently offering discounted prices for compact flash cards, saving up to $90 when purchasing in packs of 2.
With the bombardment of new cameras over the last couple of months, it is easy to forget what we had before NAB. With Magic Lanterns software packages getting stronger build by build, the Canon 5D mark iii with Magic Lantern still provides us with an exciting and unique package; currently the only full frame (in photography terms) camera capable of capturing raw video.
Said Lexar sale cards are the perfect candidate for raw recording, offering a maximum write speed of 150MB/s. Despite being listed as a guaranteed write speed of 65MB/s, it is well documented that these cards are capable of more, and will sustain the minimum required for raw recording with the 5D mark iii (which typically needs 83MB/s for 1080p, but depends on your framerate).
Buying two 64G 1066x speed cards will save you $64.00.
Buying two 128G 1066x speed cards will save you $90.00.
The above two packages will be the most attractive to 5D raw shooters, however there are other deals to be had with smaller and slower cards in the Lexar line up; the full list can be found here.
