Italian manufacturer LockCircle released a new version of its famous LockPort HDMI port protector for the FUJIFILM X-T4. This micro to full-size right angle HDMI adapter screws to a thin baseplate and helps you protect your camera from an expensive repair of the X-T4’s HDMI port.
LockCircle’s LockPorts are a legacy from the Canon 5D Mark II era. These right angle HDMI adapters are available for various cameras and convert the mini/micro HDMI port onto a full-size HDMI port that is more suitable for video production. Indeed, even if HDMI, in general, is not the best way nor the most reliable type of video connection, a full-size HDMI cable is usually more stable, far easier to find anywhere in the world, and less prone to break than a mini/micro HDMI cable.
The LockCircle LockPort X-T4 HDMI port protector is a taylor-made solution for FUJIFILM X-T4 shooters. A previous version for FUJIFILM X-T3 shooters was already available, as we reported here. This video adapter converts the camera’s micro HDMI port into a full-size HDMI port.
The cable adapter can also be secured to a slim baseplate made of aluminum, which doesn’t obstruct the battery door. Once the cable adapter is attached to the baseplate, it’s supposed to be very secure and won’t wiggle in your camera’s video output port, so it’s less prone to break. Indeed, HDMI port repairs are usually costly, so it’s worth being cautious about this little FUJIFILM X-T4 HDMI port.
The LockPort rear HDMI kit includes a baseplate, the HDMI adapter, two hex tools, three hex screws, and retails for $119.00. You can also purchase the right-angle micro HDMI to HDMI adapter alone for $29.00. All products are available now.
