MID49 has just released two new accessories for the Sony BURANO: a monitor cover and an EVF loupe plug. Both products are made of 3D-printed plastic and designed specifically for the BURANO’s monitor/EVF. You can buy these directly from MID49 or print them at home for free if you have a 3D printer. So, let’s take a closer look at these!

Earlier this year, American camera accessories manufacturer MID49 released their entire ecosystem of products for the Sony BURANO. At Cine Gear 2024, we met with the company to discuss the Rainbow Handle they were showcasing with the BURANO. As the company is always trying to solve real-life problems and make filmmakers’ lives easier, they just released two new small accessories: a monitor cover and an EVF loupe plug for the Sony BURANO.

Let’s start with the MID49 monitor cover for the Sony BURANO. This little 3D-printed flexible cover is designed to snap on the OLED panel to protect it. According to MID49, this cover “contours to fit Sony’s monitor with MID49’s EVF Pivot installed and also with the Sony knuckle directly on the screen’s side.”

The next little part that MID49 released is an EVF loupe plug. This dust cover is designed to snap to the loupe when you’re not using it. It helps keep the inside of the loupe clean, as it’s usually a dust trap and often not easy to clean once dust or fingerprints get stuck in it.

Price and availability

The monitor cover is available now for $25/€23.95, and the EVF loupe plug is $15/€14.95. As both products are 3D-printed, in an excellent move, MID49 is giving you access to the 3D digital files free of charge. This allows you to print both products at home if you have a 3D printer or send it to a local shop that has one.
