Let’s assume you are a passionate filmmaker with lots of great ideas that you’ve yet to shoot. There is just one problem, again and again… money. Look no further, the guys over at Musicbed just started the Musicbed Film Initiative—and they are about to give you money and gear in order to make your idea a reality. There’s just one catch: it needs to be the best.
Do you take your passion seriously? Do you long for nothing more than to bring that idea you’ve had for years to life, subconsciously knowing that you don’t have the finances in place to do so? Fortunately, Musicbed has today introduced the Musicbed Film Initiative—a three-week competition that welcomes filmmakers to submit their biggest and brightest idea for a passion film project. The competition will be running from today, March 15th through April 4th.
The overall winner will receive a substantial package of prizes, rocketing their dream project into the realm of reality! Runner-up prizes are a little less impressive, but still well worth a competition entry in my opinion!
In order to enter the competition, you’ll need the following three things:
The team over at Musicbed will then pick the best entries from the submitted ideas, with the overall winner taking home the massive prize displayed above. There’s no barrier to entry for non-US residents, meaning that filmmakers from around the world have a chance at making their passion project a reality. Amazingly, you don’t even need to be a Musicbed account holder, either. What really stands out to me, and I am sure you’ll agree, is the fact that all rights to submitted material will stay with the filmmaker—you can read about all of this and more on the Musicbed Film Initiative FAQs.

Good luck and remember: Story is THE most powerful tool to arouse the attention of your audience. Did you watch Trumbo, yet? Great movie, indeed (budget was a little over $50,000, though).
