Anton/Bauer has introduced the Dionic XT, a new line of batteries, aimed at setting a new benchmark in performance and reliability. The batteries are available in both, V-Mount as well as Gold Mount, and are being produced in two sizes: XT 90 (99Wh) and XT 150 (156Wh). These batteries feature a backlit display, P-Tap, USB power out and should maintain their performance even in cold environments.
Anton/Bauer Dionic XT Batteries
Anton/Bauer is a well-known US-based power solutions manufacturer in the film industry. They have just launched their new Dionic XT series batteries, which are available in two sizes – Dionic XT 90 with 99 Wh capacity and Dionic XT 150 with 156 Wh capacity. Both versions are available with either V-Mount or Gold Mount – that makes a total 4 different models.
The new Dionic XT batteries also feature both, USB and P-Tap power outputs. P-Tap is ideal for powering accessories such as portable LED lights, monitors, wireless receivers or any other 14V accessory. The USB 5V power output might also come handy for lots of different scenarios. Additionally, the Dionic XT should work well in tough environments: Anton/Bauer claims their operating temperature range for discharge mode to be between -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to 140°F).
Another useful feature of the new Dionic XT batteries is the large on-board backlit display. Once the battery is attached, it displays remaining run-time hours and minutes for the powered device. For battery capacity shown in percentage and other real-time diagnostics, users can simply tap the battery to scroll through more information.
Dionic XT batteries are cross-compatible with multiple brand chargers and they are also certified as air-transportable. The batteries’ body is built of high-strength ABS plastic while the rubber protection cushions shocks and protects the battery cells inside. Speaking of cells – their high quality paired with Anton/Bauer’s sophisticated charging technology should extend their life cycle, compared to other battery systems. The company claims the XT’s 12A of constant current (175W) brings 10% greater run time and 20% more current compared to previous generations.
All new Dionic XT models are available for preorder now. The price for the XT 90 is US$474,- and for the bigger XT 150 it’s US$608,-. There is no difference in price between V-Mount and Gold Mount.
