RØDE is making microphone placement more versatile, and also helping sound recordists stay organized on set with the release of the FlexClip GO and COLORS 2 accessories for their Wireless GO, Wireless GO II, and Lavalier products.
The RØDE Wireless GO, and Wireless GO II microphone systems are wildly popular. These tiny transmitter / receiver pairs make capturing clean audio a breeze for new recordists and solo shooters on the move.
They offer a multipurpose, adaptable solution for flexible audio capturing, and they’re so small you can hide them anywhere. The FlexClip GO, and COLORS 2 accessories make them even easier to place and track while shooting.
The FlexClip GO accessory is a set of three clips for mounting the Wireless GO (II) transmitter to talent. The set comes with a MagClip GO, CrossClip, and VampireClip.
The MagClip GO is a magnetic clip system that makes mounting and hiding the transmitter fast and simple. A black magnet securely holds the transmitter in place inside of a shirt or jacket.
CrossClip allows the transmitter to be mounted vertically and is perfect for placing the transmitter on a button-down shirt or tie.
VampireClip has two parallel pins that allow the transmitter to be attached to any fabric. Vampire clips are a personal favorite of mine as they tend to stay put well during a shoot, and can be placed anywhere.
The RØDE FlexClip GO set is currently available for pre-order through RØDE’s website for $29.00.
The COLORS 2 accessory by RØDE is a color coding system that helps you keep track of your microphones on shoot day. Rather than just numbering the microphones, RØDE offers these colored windshields, cable ID rings, tags and sticker set letting you visually track who is who.
They come in pink, green, blue, and orange making them incredibly easy to see while filming.
COLORS 2 is compatible with the Wireless GO, Wireless GO II, Lavalier GO, and smartLav+ systems from RØDE.
The RØDE COLORS 2 accessory is currently available for pre-order through RØDE’s website for $15.
Proper mic placement and organization is extremely important for capturing good, clean audio. There are several DIY solutions that would offer the same functionality, but it is definitely nice to have it all ready to go.
Head over to RØDE’s website for more information about the FlexClip GO, and COLORS 2 accessories.
