The LUMIX GH6 is here and available for pre-order. If you’re toying with the idea of getting a GH6, this promo from Panasonic might be just what you need: anyone who buys a GH6 by March 25, 2022, will get a 128 GB Lexar CFexpress Type B card for free.
A new camera is all well and good, but it won’t get you very far if you don’t already have a bunch of accessories: Lenses (of course), batteries, and storage media for your shots, for example.
The new Lumix GH6 comes with one battery (the new DMW-BLK22), okay, so that’s done, at least to get started. Speaking of getting started: Be sure to read our news coverage / review / lab test!
It also comes with a 12-60mm f/2.8-4 kit lens if you choose the kit option. But no storage media is included, no SD card, no CFexpress card. So you’ll definitely need one of those.
Since the LUMIX GH6 has both an SD/SDHC card slot (UHS-II U3/V30 or faster cards are recommended) and a CFexpress Type B slot, the question is which card is better and if you really need the more expensive cards if you already have some good SD cards.
The answer is yes, you’ll need at least a fast CFexpress Type B card, as the LUMIX GH6 will only support the higher-end features (like 5.7K ProRes and slo-mo) if you record to such CFexpress card.
And that’s where this promo comes in. It gets you a capable CFexpress Type B card for free that lets you take full advantage of the higher-end features of the GH6, so you won’t miss out on any of those. Of course, you’ll want to buy more than just one card over time, but for starters, this is totally fine.
However, a card reader for CFexpress Type B cards is not included, so you should not forget that.
In summary, I think this LUMIX GH6 promo is quite nice, as it actually adds some value to the camera instead of just including a random case or useless accessory. If you’re going to get this camera anyway, why not get a little something as a gift? The Lexar card usually sells for $199, so that’s already 1/11th of the GH6 body, not too shabby!
Check out Panasonic’s site for full terms and conditions, but rest assured that our trusted partners B&H and CVP will automatically add this promotion if you order the LUMIX GH6 through them. Both body-only and kit lens bundles apply.
