Generative AI for video is almost here, advancing by the month, threatening to change our filmmaking industry (and beyond) forever! For us as professionals, there are numerous options in how to react and respond, so in today’s poll, we wanted to hear YOUR opinion and find out what your planned next move is. After all, you don’t want to be caught by surprise when the next revolution is here.
Unless you have been extremely busy or simply not very interested, there is no way you’ve been able to escape the news of Generative AI for video approaching fast. A development that is astonishing to witness. We touched on that matter in last week’s podcast episode, but it already seems to be outdated again, simply because Open AI published a few new videos made by beta testers who used Sora (their AI tool) to accomplish the task.
If you look beyond technicality and image perfection (as this will be improved in “no time”), it is very clear that such a powerful tool (next to others that already exist and others that will emerge in no time), will change our filming industry forever.
Now, let’s ignore everything related to regulations for a moment like copyrights, and monetization when using such tools. What we would like to focus on is understanding what YOUR next move is going to be. Are you educating yourself with what’s coming up? Or are you sitting on the fence to see where it all is taking us? Or maybe you couldn’t care less and simply continue to do what you do best and hope that AI for video will not touch your production or affect your clients’ needs.

Next to answering our poll on AI for video, feel free to leave a comment, too, as we would love to hear your opinion about this important matter.
