Even the most streamlined film production tends to produce quite a lot of organizational overhead. To manage this workload, the Munich-based company Pomfort offers a whole range of software tools that simplify asset management, on-set grading and much more. Now their latest addition, Pomfort ShotHub, is here to put it all under one roof: the cloud.
With this new subscription-based service, Pomfort offers real-time upload of all relevant clip- and color-metadata of your entire project into the cloud. It ties Silverstack (article here) and Livegrade (article here) together and makes the resulting data accessible all around the world.
So team members can access and review critical information about on-set grading decisions and other clip metadata instantly. No more ping-pong via email, just log in and see the latest version every time. Watch the official screencast below:
Pomfort ShotHub replaces the former Pomfort Silverstack Cloud but previously created Pomfort user accounts remain vaild. This new cloud solution is now out of beta and ready for the big stage. Pomfort ShotHub enables seamless collaborative exchange of every asset metadata relevant to the production, including on-set looks, clip metadata, shot lists, dailies, etc. Sometimes it’s necessary to get back to a clip from 4 episodes ago and match that one clip to the one just set up. That’s exactly the moment when on-set asset management software comes in very handy. And now all this info is available 24/7 in the cloud, seems neat!
For accessing the ShotHub cloud you only need a browser, it works on any device. Pomfort Silverstack and Livegrade will upload relevant data automatically while working on an active project.
There are three tiers to choose from:
Of course this whole offering is more targeted at higher-end productions and pro customers, therefore these subsriptions are not exactly cheap but they do offer a lot of value if you’re working on such higher-end production and need consistent data across all team members regardless of their location.
The Pro plan is $25/month or $189/year, the Team plan is $129/month plus $49 for each additional active project (two active ones are included). Active means that you’re actively working on that given project with either Pomfort Silverstack and/or Pomfort Livegrade. Also the number of active team members and contributers are increased on the Team plan of course.
A fully-flegded 10-day trial version with no restrictions is available, too.
The cloud is not a buzzword anymore.. it’s just daily business and for things like asset management, on-set grading and dozens of team members all around the globe, elevating the Pomfort suite of tools into the cloud seams logical. Also, Pomfort ShotHub is more an addition than it is a substitution to existing tools. Silverstack and Livegrade will still work without any internet connection whatsoever. ShotHub just takes the data and makes it accessible for each team member without the hassle of email madness.
