The crew over at JAG35 sent me the new Digi Finder Pro viewfinder for HDSLR’s. This is a great solution to the problem of shooting video in Live View with the LCD monitor on the camera. The Digi Finder is actually a pretty cool viewfinder for the money. The viewfinder utilizes a frame system attached to the LCD screen on the back of the camera. This makes it very easy to take the viewfinder on and off. The frame is pretty flimsy. I would suggest getting a few as backups. The eyepiece itself collapses down to a mere two inches when closed. This will save space in the camera bag. When opened it locks down very well. The diopter does lock down by twisting it clockwise. I discovered that after the Quick Take. I tried it with a Canon 5D Mark II and it covered the LCD quite well. JAG35 is selling them here in the US for around $60. Digifinder also sells them direct for around 50 EUR.
