Quick Take: Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f0.95 MFT Lens

Here is a Quick Take on the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f0.95 MFT lens. It will only cover Micro Four Thirds or smaller sized sensors. That means it can be very fast in a small package. A plus if you steal a lot of shots, as I do most of the time. I have been using it with both the Panasonic Af100 and the new Panasonic GH2 cameras. The Voigtlander Nokton is both manual iris and focus and does not have any electronic relays to the camera. Cosina in Japan makes it. They have not been able to keep up with demand here in the states and the price has gone up considerably. I got mine from eBay for around $1200. The suggested retail is $900. The build quality is solid and both the iris and focus are smooth and tight. The lens comes with 67mm metal sunshades that screw into the 52mm front of the lens. It also comes with two lens caps. One cap for the lens. The other for the sunshade. I will end up using the shade as a step up ring to get to my preferred 82mm filter size. I have found that the smaller MFT sensor needs a fast lens to get the DOF we have become accustomed to with our full frame Canon 5D MKII. The Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f0.95 does the trick.
