Renderro is a cloud-based workplace that offers a combination of a powerful virtual cloud workstation, Cloud Storage, and a managing platform. It promises to be suitable for filmmakers and other creative professionals that want to work from anywhere, but don’t want to carry a powerful physical workstation. It offers a pay-as-you-go pricing model.

This year has seen a massive increase in remote work thanks to multiple lockdowns. More people than ever were working remotely and the place of work has become less relevant for many sectors. That being said, if your work requires computer-intensive tasks, like editing, color grading, visual effects, or similar, you are, in a way, limited to where you work.

Desktop workstations are often too large and heavy to travel with. Laptops are getting more powerful, but the increasing power comes with higher price and weight. Renderro promises to offer an alternative – a cloud-based workplace. Let’s take a short look at what it offers.

Renderro – Cloud Workplace

As its creators say, Renderro is a cloud workplace for filmmakers, designers, and animators. It can run various projects on cloud setups instead of traditional physical workstations.

It is promising to be more than just a render farm. Users can install any software and application they would normally run on a physical workstation. They can connect to Renderro using any device with a web browser to quickly check up on their projects or download any file. For the best work experience, there are free desktop applications for both Mac and Windows systems.

Renderro consists of a powerful virtual cloud workstation, Cloud Storage, and a managing platform. For team collaboration, Renderro offers shared virtual drives.

The Renderro cloud storage comes in two modes – Hot and Cold. The Hot storage includes fast drives and it is meant to be for projects that are currently being worked on. All the old projects can be archived in Renderro’s Cold storage, which can expand in size according to the needs. Files can, of course, be moved between these storages.

Price and Availability

Renderro uses a pay-as-you-go model, meaning that users pay only for the resources they actually use. The price spans from $1.60 to $10 per hour depending on how strong the workstation needs to be. Additionally, there is a monthly payment for the amount of Hot storage used. It starts at 10$ per month for 200GB. Cold storage is unlimited and free. More information on pricing can be found here.
