RØDE announced a firmware update for the RØDECaster Pro II and several new products designed for streamers, podcasters, and content creators. These include the RØDECaster Duo for streaming audio only for $499, the Streamer X for streaming audio and video up to 4K for $399, the PodMic USB microphone with USB and XLR connectivity for $199, the RØDECaster Backpack for carrying your podcasting gear, and the Wireless GO II Charging Case with an integrated battery for $79. All this will be presented at the NAB show in Las Vegas, so let’s have a closer look.
We have seen some interesting new products from RØDE over the last few weeks. For example, the budget-friendly Wireless ME Microphone system was introduced at the end of March, and the 5th generation of the iconic RØDE NT1 Microphone was released about two months ago, but at this year’s NAB we will see much more from the Australian manufacturer.
To begin with, a new firmware update will be available for the RØDECaster Pro II so you can use wireless microphones like the Wireless GO II or the Wireless ME Microphone for your podcasts or other streaming content. You will be able to connect the transmitter directly to the RØDECaster Pro II for cable-free wireless audio transmission.
If you don’t need to stream video, then the mobile RØDECaster Duo might be interesting to you. It is a compact version of the RØDECaster Pro II but focuses on a smaller footprint. Despite having only 2 analog inputs instead of four, it shares the same built-in preamps featuring APHEX audio processing as the other models.
It features an Ethernet port, two USB-C ports, two XLR combo ports, two line-out channels, and two headphone outputs. It has an additional 3,5mm socket at the front of the unit for connecting a headset for audio in and out.
The RØDE Streamer X is a new product that has everything on board to live stream audio and video with one small console. It features a built-in preamp with APHEX audio processing and a video capture card for streaming a video signal in 4K30p, 2K60p, 2K120p, and up to 4K60p.
It has a single XLR combo port, two USB-C ports, one HDMI input port, one HDMI output port, and two headphone outputs. The console is compatible with software solutions like UNIFY, RØDE Central, and RØDE Connect.
The PodMic USB is a small, versatile microphone for podcasting, streaming, and any other content creation. It offers both analog XLR and digital USB-C connectivity, exactly like its big brother – the RØDE NT1 Microphone – but in a smaller size.
When you are using the USB output, it offers a range of features like a Revolution Preamp and analog-to-digital conversion for audio capture. It also has DSP for adding professional APHEX voice processing to recordings and is compatible with smartphones and tablets. On the rear side, it features a headphone output and onboard volume control.
It might be surprising to see a RØDE backpack, but sometimes small things like the right carrying bag make your life much easier. Now you can transport your RØDECaster series, including the RØDECaster Pro, RØDECaster Pro II, and the new RØDECaster Duo, along with mics, arms, cables, and laptop in style with the new dedicated RØDE backpack.
Designed exclusively for the dual-channel Wireless GO II, this charging case allows you to store both transmitters and the receiver. It features an integrated battery that offers up to 30 hours of continuous use with three full recharges, making it perfect for even the longest shooting day.
If you are planning on heading to this year’s NAB Show, all new RØDE products will make their debut in Las Vegas. The products are available for pre-ordering already, shipping should start soon.
