Shane Hurlbut is very passionate about HDSLR’s and film making in general. He goes over some of the more basic functions of pre-flight with the camera on his blog Hurlbut Visuals. Some of this will seem very basic to a seasoned HDSLR shooter, however it never hurts to go through this protocol as you would any other camera prep.
The most important aspect of this little video would be to check for any dead pixels. I simply shoot for thirty seconds with each camera with the lens cap still attached. I then review the footage on a laptop or PC and scan for any bad pixels. This is a very important aspect of the camera prep. I highly recommend it.
