SIGMA fp Camera – 3D Models Available for Download

SIGMA released 3D models of their new SIGMA fp camera and its accessories. The models are downloadable in STEP format for free. Creators all over the world are therefore encouraged to design their own accessories for SIGMA’s upcoming full-frame mirrorless camera.

SIGMA fp 3D models available for free download

SIGMA fp is a new compact full-frame L-mount mirrorless camera, which is supposed to be released in Q4 2019. One of the most impressive features of this tiny camera is the ability to record 4K UHD video in the Cinema DNG RAW format internally.

SIGMA first announced the camera in July 2019 and my colleague Johnnie attended the launch event in Japan – our article with a short video (menu walkthrough) can be found here. Our team also met with Yamaki-San from SIGMA during IBC 2019 and we received more information about the current status of the SIGMA fp camera (article with video interview available here).

Currently, Johnnie is visiting SIGMA in Japan, where he will also have the chance to shoot with the SIGMA fp camera. Stay tuned to cinema5D for a hands-on article very soon. In the meantime you can watch our exclusive SIGMA factory tour from 2018.

SIGMA fp Downloadable 3D Models

Few days ago SIGMA decided to release 3D models of the fp camera and various accessories. The files are available for download from SIGMA’s fp camera webpage. These files are in STEP format and they are therefore compatible with various 3D programs. More information about the compatibility of STEP files can be found here.

There are currently 13 models available for download:

• SIGMA cage support bracket CSB-11
• SIGMA mount converter MC-21 EF-L
• SIGMA mount converter MC-21 SA-L
• SIGMA mount converter MC-31 PL-L

Please note, that before downloading the files, you will be asked to agree to SIGMA’s license agreement.

SIGMA fp camera is coming soon

This is definitely an interesting step from SIGMA and I am curious what the community will come up with and which gadgets will emerge for the SIGMA fp camera. There are certainly many talented designers out there and SIGMA knows it.

Just a reminder – SIGMA fp camera will be available for pre-order from October 10th. There is no info about pricing yet.
