SmallRig introduced their new handles that, according to them, can be easily attached and removed within one second. The new Snap-on Quick Lock NATO Top Handle and the Side Handle can be pre-ordered for $69.90. Let’s take a look at this promising new locking system from SmallRig.
Time is one of the most important assets on a film set, and the time spent on your camera rig adds up throughout the day. Little things can make a big difference, and this is where the newly developed Snap-on Quick Lock from SmallRig can come in handy. With a single click, you can attach a Top Handle or a Side Handle to your camera cage. It is a simple way to attach or remove your Handles without disassembling your rig.
The SmallRig Snap-on Quick Lock NATO Top Handle is designed for moving shoots and helps to stabilize low-angle shots. It is compatible with standard NATO rails – the handle snaps on or releases from a NATO rail within one second without having to first remove other accessories. It can be tightened by a wrench for security.
The 134mm / 5,27in long handle has enough length for a good grip, even after installing accessories. 80mm / 3,14in forward-to-back adjustment provides a balanced gripping point for your camera.
The grip provides a variety of 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 accessory mounting threads with locating holes. It has a cold shoe mount that supports an additional monitor mount, a ball head magic arm, LED video lights, microphones, etc. A built-in magnetic wrench is also included for easy accessory mounting and release.
The SmallRig Snap-on Quick Lock NATO Side Handle also helps to stabilize left and right-handed shots, while providing additional accessory mounts.
It is compatible with standard NATO rails. The Handle snaps on and releases within a second without removing other accessories, saving you handling time. It can be tightened with a wrench, and the ergonomic design fits either hand. The item can slip up and down within 35mm / 1,38in providing a balanced gripping point and giving access to cable interfaces.
The new SmallRig Snap-on Quick Lock NATO Handles are now available for pre-order. Both the Top Handle and the Side Handle retail for $69.90. There’s currently no official information regarding shipping.
So, what do you think about the new Snap-on Quick Lock Handles from SmallRig? Do you think they would come in handy on your camera rig? Please let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
