Right, we can all pack our bags and head on home. The Robot Cameraman is shipping soon and we’re all out of the job. The  SOLOSHOT3pro is an automated camera that tracks its subject, panning and tilting, without the need for a cameraman.

The Robot Cameraman

The camera that had its designer so excited that they jammed the caps lock button when naming it, SOLOSHOT3pro is an automated camera system that tracks its subject through auto panning and tilting.

The  SOLOSHOT3pro is made up of two parts, the Base and the Tag.

The base sits between your existing camera and tripod, this is the automated part that pans and tracks and can support cameras up to 10lbs.

The tag is a shockproof, waterproof, and comes with an arm band that you (the subject) wear. It functions up to 2000 feet in distance and is the key to making any person trackable.

The base has a detachable 1/4″ threaded top for easy mounting to the camera of your choice. The  SOLOSHOT3pro has a battery life of 3.5 hours and is controlled by the in-built touchscreen or WIFI app; you can also login to view a wireless live feed (with compatible camera).

Speaking of compatible cameras, the  SOLOSHOT Optic65 and  SOLOSHOT Optic25 are purpose-built cameras for the  SOLOSHOT3pro—just in case you don’t want to mount your own. With these, you’ll get automated zoom functionality also.

The  SOLOSHOT Optic65 is the top of the range version, it’ll shoot 4K up to 30p and 1080p up to 60p on a 1/2.33″  CMOS sensor.

Other key features are the 65x optical zoom, internal mic, 2.5mm for external sound, micro SD recording, and photo burst/time-lapse modes.

The SOLOSHOT Optic25 is the cheaper, non-4K version with a 25x optical zoom lens.

I can see this being very useful for extreme sports enthusiasts, pet owners, and self-filming consumers. It may even work in the professional world, for event work, as an automatic hothead.
