SWIT has just announced the OMNI 50S and 99S, the latest iteration of their mini-size, compact V-mount batteries. These third-generation models offer a high-load output of 100W and 150W respectively, and functionality in demanding environments. Plus, they feature an LED-powered info display and a multi-function interface. Let’s have a look!
Chinese company SWIT Electronics specializes in developing and manufacturing a wide array of broadcast and film equipment including studio monitors, a dual-channel wireless microphone system, and a plethora of batteries including the pocket-sized V-mount MINO battery packs. Now they are back with a versatile battery designed to cater to a broad range of users, as these pocket-sized batteries are compatible with mirrorless cameras, camcorders, high-powered lights, and more.
SWIT OMNI 50S and 99S are high-capacity 14.4V output batteries, offering 50Wh and 99Wh respectively. The batteries are robust and can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C, plus, there is a built-in multiple protection circuit that provides second-level safety protection. Moreover, the batteries feature a smart hibernate mode that automatically switches to ultra-low power consumption when idle for an extended period.
The LED display indicates capacity percentage, charge/discharge status, and battery health. It supports digital communication with Sony and RED cameras, providing precise remaining usage time similar to the ARRI B-mount battery system. The intuitive display keeps users informed, while the sunken design prevents damage from falls or impacts.
OMNI offers a wider range of interfaces than in previous models. These include a 65W USB-C, standard USB-A (5V), 8.4V DC, and 14.4V D-tap. Not only do these interfaces allow users to power various accessories, but users can also attach batteries to camera cages using dummy batteries, creating a compact power station for their cameras. The D-tap and USB-C ports work as two-way interfaces, offering multiple charging methods for the battery.
The 50S and 99S batteries’ size and weight are 74×02×33mm at 0.33kg/0.7lbs and 74×02×52mm at 0.55kg/1.2lbs respectively.
The SWIT OMNI batteries are priced at $129 for the 50S and $199 for the 99S. For more information, have a look at their website.

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. An American, I’ve lived and worked in Vienna for many years both as a photographer and a photography teacher. Currently I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval immersive theater group. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
