Part 2 – Introduction

Welcome to the second part of the cinema5D rig review. In the first part we reviewed the basic tripod setups, base plates, follow focus units and matte boxes in detail. This second part is where we’re going to get real messy with all the handheld gear.

We had seven handheld rigs in for review and took them for a ride on our shoulders. At the end of the day (the end of those two weeks I mean) many had to bite the dust. Much like the tripod setups, there’s a lot of stuff on the market that we think is actually not ready for DSLR cine style shooting, We are glad we can provide you with this insight before you buy something that doesn’t work.

Keep in mind that we only provide our professional opinion about these products quality, stability, versatility, functionality etc…We will also provide some insight into how they worked for US personally, which will most likely reflect most DSLR shooters desires, but a handheld rig has to work for you and only you.

You may have noticed that we mainly reviewed handles, shoulder pads and eyepieces. That’s because they’ve proven to work well and we haven’t found an alternative yet.
