Here’s a list of all the co-branded Samyang lenses and how to get the best deals on them.
These lenses are a good choice for filmmakers on a budget who are looking to shoot with prime lenses that are somewhat cine-worthy.
The “cine” in these lenses is that they offer focus and aperture racks for use with cinema rigs, stepless aperture control, and calibration in T-stops rather than F-stops. What Samyang’s “cine” lenses are lacking however in comparison to other cine lenses that retail for 10 times the price is the following: They’re made of plastic (not the newer ones though), missing the front diameters to accommodate matte-boxes and don’t have the large focus throw. For most low-budget applications and one-man filmmakers these lenses will however offer enough “cine” to be a great pick.
Samyang or Rokinon or Bower lenses are sold under numerous names and the price differences between these is sometimes significant. To find the best deals we put together a list of all the existing “cine” lenses and their most affordable brand versions. We hope it helps.
