A perfect storm has made land fall. This maelstrom is the product of the announcement of a new EOS camera, the poor economy and black Friday specials.
The results have been a consistent drop of prices since last week taking the $2700 Canon 5D Mark II to the below $2000 mark.
I’ve been wanting a new 5D for some time, but the cost and the anticipation of a Mark III kept my credit card at bay. However, after seeing the price tag of Canon’s new Cinema EOS line, I, like so many others felt excluded from the party so to speak.
Yes the C300 looks amazing, and yes the 1D X looks amazing too, but I simply can’t justify the expense. My personal feeling is if I want access to a system of that caliber and cost, I’ll rent. After this revelation, buying a 5D Mark II looked pretty good, and when I saw it for as low as $1900 in some cases, I bit, hook line and sinker.
If you’re like me, and the C300 has left you feeling excluded, now is a great time to go back to the one you first fell in love with, at a price that’s better than ever.
